Homemade Granola

This recipe can take a lot of substituting. Examples might be; juice instead of milk, powdered goat’s/soy milk instead of regular powdered milk, toasted oat bran instead of wheat germ.

Almond Granola

Preheat oven to 300º
In a large bowl, combine;
4 C oatmeal (uncooked, old fashion 5 minute)
1/3 C dry powdered milk
2/3 C course chopped nuts
1/2 t cardamom
2 t cinnamon
1/4 t ground cloves
1/2 t salt
1/3 C brown sugar
1/2 C raspberry jelly
1/3 – 1/2 cup milk

Stir until completely mixed and uniformly moistened. Pour into a 13x9x2″ nonstick pan. Bake on top rack stirring the granola every 15 minutes until golden and dry. Turn off oven.
Stir in:
1 C dried fruit pieces and raisins.
Return to oven with the door open just a crack until cool. Immediately transfer to air tight container.
