Butterscotch Sour Cream Cookies

Butterscotch Sour Cream Cookies

Grammy Lukens wasn’t vegetarian and this recipe isn’t vegan but it’s the best cookie recipe, ever. It is amazing in every way shape and form and needs to be shared in its original state but in the past I have varied it by using whole wheat flour, making vegan modifications an using it as a base for chocolate chip cookies. Modify it gently and it will treat you well.

1 Cup of Butter
2 Cups of Brown Sugar
1 Egg
1 Cup of Sour Cream
4 Cups of all purpose Flour
2 teaspoons of Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon of Salt
1/4 teaspoon of Baking Soda
Pecan Halves to top each cookie

Preheat oven to 375°
Cream butter and sugar. Mix in egg and sour cream. Pre-mix and gradually add flour, baking powder, salt and soda. Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet and top with pecan half. Bake 10 – 15 minutes.

Yields ~ 4 Dozen

  1. Looks yummy! I have never baked with sour cream before. Well done!

  2. LOVE sour cream in sweet things, makes it taste so rich and lovely. Cutest little pecans in the middle!
